Restless by nature!

Motoxplorers is a Portuguese company founded by five travel companions. In past years we've motorcycled many exotic and faraway destinations. We've become addicted to this form of travel to the point of deciding to make it a way of living. We chose to continue to explore the world and to give others the possibility to do the same.

Our goal is to ease your way into motorcycling the most wonderful regions of the planet without having to spend all your holiday time on preparations, bureaucracies, shipping agents and so on. We organize motorcycle tours from one to four weeks long on Africa, Europe, Asia and Central America. We are based in Lisbon where we also rent motorcycles and run an Adventure Store.

We are well known in the motorcycling community, either in Portugal as abroad. We are commited to provide you a quality experience. Motoxplorers has a legal certification as a rent-a-bike company which is given by Portuguese authorities after checking our finantial capacity and idoneity (License nr: 129/2010 IMTT).

Carlos Azevedo is a professional photographer and compulsive traveler. He was a founder of the Nomad's Trail Club Portugal. He conceived and successfully completed the project 'Until the end of the world, an adventure from Pole to Pole'.
Passionate about South America he travels with some frequency to that continent, where he has journeyed thousands of miles through Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. His other great passion is the mother continent, Africa: Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia and Guinea are places he has discovered by motorcycle.
Restless by nature, he continues to explore new destinations and new frontiers, recognizing routes for future Adventure Tours with MotoXplorers. He is one of the Tour Leaders and rides a BMW HP2.

Carlos Martins was born in Africa and always dreamed about returning there on two wheels. More than a hobby, motorcycling has been a deep passion. He started on long road trips, then he caught the off-road virus and as a consequence he ended up on trans-Saharan expeditions and erg crossings. He has worked on telecommunications but his 10 seconds of fame occurred in 2007 helping Ari Vatanen in the second stage of the Dakar Rally:-). He's one of those people who are born with the gift of mechanic improvisation, he and his Leatherman multi-tool are able to fix the most stubborn machine. He has several qualifications in motorcycle riding, training and first aid.

He is one of the instructors of our Off- Road Training Courses, a Tour Leader and rides a BMW HP2.

Ricardo Ricardo Azevedo has a special passion for bikes. With an amazing capacity to fend any mechanical problem, he took a step further and began designing and building parts for motorcycles. At a very small atelier he has successfully prepared several bikes for trips and raids. He participated in the first trip of MotoXplorers (from Portugal to Guinea-Bissau), moved the atelier to the headquarters of MotoXplorers and he is now a fundamental piece of our staff.

He rides a very well modified Honda Africa Twin.

s André Espenica is a landscape architect and a veteran traveler. He has traveled throughout most of Europe, Morocco, throughout South America and Cuba. He also traveled several times to Angola and the United States of America. Fond of all things geographical, he is also a mapping expert and he put together an impressive collection of maps.

He has participated in two of the stages of the project 'Until the end of the world', having passed through Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. His experience is an asset to MotoXplorers Adventure Tours.

He is one of the Tour Leaders and rides a BMW R1200 GS Adventure

s Enrique Díaz is a Galician who worked as a biologist in Vigo, Spain. He rode many kilometers in Europe before bumping into a group of Portuguese who shared his same interests. He than started to be a part of many adventures and long motorcycle trips to NW Africa with them.

That wasn't enough to settle his travelling addiction, so Enrique decided to quit his biologist job and he overlanded for six months from Canada to Colombia. When he returned, he settled in Lisbon to join the project MotoXplorers. He now divides his time between the organization and implementation of motorcycle travels and professional photography.

He is one of the Tour Leaders and rides a Yamaha Tenere 660XTZ.
